Merry Christmas Rocky Bowlers --The commissioners hope you are snuggling up for a warm winter's night with family and friends. One more game today, the Hawaii Bowl at 5:00pm (Hawaii [35,432] vs Middle Tennessee [40,729] followed by a Christmas day break leading into home stretch for the Bobbi Breeze award.
As is the case every year, a seemingly meaningless game in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces bowl had Rocky Bowlers on the edge of their seats and watching their confidence points as La Tech [35,555] kicked a field goal in the waning seconds to secure a win over Navy [40,694] for a minor RBS upset.
The Navy loss propelled "Rusty" into second place behind the "Masonater" who has a commanding lead in the race for the Bobbi Breeze trophy and $50.
The Bobbi Breeze trophy (named after the favorite drink for Commissioner Doug's late Mom Bobbi) is awarded to the "near" Half-Way leader of the Rocky Bowl. It is a strategy for some to front load their points to give themselves a chance to win this Prestigious award. It comes with your name engraved on the trophy for posterity so that you have can display proudly throughout the year.
Also, the Master sheet will be deemed final on Dec 26. If you have any challenges for your entry, please send an email to rockybowl@live.com before the start of the first game on Dec. 26.
Also, I apologize for the poor viewing experience of the Master Sheet in the browser. For the best viewing option for the Master Sheet, you need to download it to your PC and open it with the desktop version of Excel. Unfortunately the Excel Web version does not support my vertical formatting of the Game columns. So, I understand that it is hard to read. I have tried several output formats including html and pdf, but they all have their drawbacks. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.
Well, continued luck the rest of the way. Have fun watching your confidence pts add up to Rocky Bowl Championship or fade away into the Toilet Bowl. Never fear, there is always next year!

ReplyDeleteI put "0" points on the Ducks. Everyone usually has some downtime (except Alabama). I seem to remember a time not so long ago, that there was a certain pack of Dawgs that went 0-12. :)
The Ducks will be back eventually.
As to this rigged Rocky Bowl, I didn't give the Big 10 the respect it deserves, and it whooped my ass the last few days.
As they always say, "There's always next year!"
